Its possible but I've heard theres more risks
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
Yeah. The oldest recorded childbirth for a women is age 54. There is an increased risk after 35 for Down's syndrome and autism that increases the older the woman gets (and the male as well, but not as big a factor), so that's a concern.
The good news is that the chances are low to begin with, so an increased risk isn't any kind of guarantee. It's just statistics, not causation

@SW-User You're the one shoving your beliefs in places that don't warrant it. No one likes a proselytizer. If you can't respect a difference of beliefs, stop bringing yours up

SW-User
@TinyViolins make me you punk! I’m entitled to my beliefs just as much as you yours. You can’t stand it cause I disagree with you. Get over yourself and goodbye!
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@SW-User I don't care what you believe. It's just incredibly annoying that you expect everyone to believe the same things you do. John the Baptist isn't a modern day scholar, he's a character in a book.
That's like bringing up Harry Potter playing quidditch to a discussion about the future of flying vehicles. It has no place

As you get older there is more likelyhood of your baby being born with certain conditions...but in general if you are fit and healthy there is no reason you cant have healthy children well into your 40s these days x

That's ridiculous. Women are having kids later and later. Modern medicine has really advanced. Sure, there are risks but the risks aren't so bad as to not do it.
unknownpoetx · 36-40, M
@quitwhendone RISKS.
It's possible yes. However, you carry greater risks after the age of 35.
Lapochka · 31-35, F
Tell them to back off. In the past it was dangerous but not in modern times.

no.

Not at all.. my wife gave birth at 37 and everyone turned out just fine. With the way women are choosing careers over families it’s becoming more and more common.
tallpowerhouseblonde · 36-40, F
I can tell you I gave birth 2 months ago to twin boys and I'm 31.
