Could women have healthy childbirth after 35?

I am 27, engaged and childless. I planned to have kids only after 30. But I am being bombarded with arguments from my family and society that it's dangerous for a woman to have kids after 35. Is this true?

Tell them to back off. In the past it was dangerous but not in modern times.
