How would you go through the pain of losing your loved ones?

I had a nightmare where my brother is dying and it kept me awake for the whole night. I always wondered if the idea of losing someone makes someone upset, how would someone go through it if it actually happened to them?

I am at that point now where it's easier to count my living relatives. I believe I only have one Aunt still living out of eight, and both of my parents have passed away, as well as a beloved Great-Aunt, and all of my grandparents.

For some of them, the agony of the loss was like being gut shot. When my father passed away, I would begin to cry uncontrollably every time I thought of his passing, and that went on for two years.
