Is there anyone here who grew up without knowing their grandparents?

Was it hard for you? Did you feel like it negatively impacted your life?

Just one of the four. It hasn't impacted it because never did know him, but I feel like I really would have liked him.

My father's parents were long dead and gone before I was born, My mother's father died when I was 3 so I didn't know him as he lived out of state, My mother's mother lived out of state most of my life so I wasn't close to her, she seemed like an angry old bitch, always so negative especially the last year of her life.

In that case, I guess you were happy that you didn't know her so well! 😁

I never knew my grandfather. He died when my father was 15. I guess it never impacted me directly, but mostly on the effect it had on my father, and so indirectly on me.
Three of my grandparents died before I was eight. One died when I was a mother myself. I never got to know any very much, other than family talking about them. My parents are now deceased.

I never knew either grandfather
I never met my grandfather and no it didn't negatively effect me
I knew them but only saw them once a year, and my fathers' parents were much older and passed away when I was still a child. I sometimes wish we'd lived closer to all of them.
