Are your Parents still alive?

My Father died in 1986, aged 67, I was 25. Not sure about my Mother, she left when I was 7 and I have had no contact with her since then. Do not know where is went to. She would be About 90 now.

My parents separated when i was 11.
I look after my mother as she's a bit frail these days.
My father developed Alzheimers about ten years ago and is in full-time care. He doesn't recognize anybody,sadly.

@Picklebobble2 Alzheimers seems so cruel. Losing one's identity and recognition of loved ones.

@Gusman Yes. When he first started to worry about it he came to see me.
I said he should get a proper diagnosis and i offered to go with him to the doctors.
Three appointments and two referrals and i went with him to each one.
But the rate of decline was so rapid it was really scary.
