is it better to give no gift at all then a gift the person is not going to like and is going to throw away?

what kind of present would you get for a person who hates presents?I just don't even know what to do. my mom hates all the presents I got her, she even hated the fact that I got her money, she thinks its something people do when they don't have time to go out and buy something. she thinks its not really a real present.I tried making her thins I have tried buying her things i tried gift cards, she didn't use them one she lost. I dont really want to buy her anything anymore or spend time making anything. she said that gifts are ways of giving people junk they will never use. she is so ungrateful isnt having gifts you dont like that much better then never getting a gift for the rest of your life?

you could ask her to make a list of things she WOULD like, that way if she says she wants nothing, boom, you're off the hook.

@reflectingmonkey did ask her, i wanted to buy something for her but she would not let me even buy something one hundred dollars she says she dosent want me spending that much money on her, everything that she said she wants is expensive, im still willing to buy it she is not willing to accept it. i will look like a idiot the only person not giving my own mother a gift.

@Girlyfriendcollecting well she didn't answer " I don't want anything" so you are NOT off the hook. so did she actually name things that she wants but said it was too expensive? if its the case then get it for her anyway.
