Has anyone cut the cable? We’re considering it but for sports and some of the channels our youngest daughter enjoys. Those are the only things keeping us from ditching it altogether. Any thoughts?
Never had it, other than an included service where I livedin CA.
I would not buy TV in the cable format. Cable was the attempt of providers to get ppl on a monthly payment plan for EVERYthing, like garbage/trash pickup, electricity, gas...
It is why ppl selling cars want to talk about a payment before trying to see what you need.
1) no commercials 2) no censorship (not over airwaves/on public frequencies)
Soon #1 went away and #2 is only slightly true...
...and the good channels moved their good content into premium channels, my friends say.
So...why pay for a billion channels of crap when you can already get more TV than you can watch on standard broadcast TV?

Not sure it would work the same over there but her in the UK I have sky TV. I asked them to cancel my subscription, they offered me discount that I couldn't afford. So I went through with the cancellation. A month later they called me back and offered me a super deal.
I cut it back and would love to dump it completely. 95% of what I watch is netflix etc only sports stuff and some news and those you have to have cable subscription for the time being.
We did and honestly I don't miss it. Got a 50.00 Roku stick and the dish provider can step off. Be ready for endless telemarketing though....after taking 150.00/month from us for the last 16 years and treating us like dirt, now they offer 20/month and apologies. I do miss local live sports but for 150/month I can see quite a few games in person.
Ok, so I am late to this party. We cut our cable and I have never thought about going back. We stream everything from Hulu, amazon prime, or Netflix. We even use some websites to watch sporting events....cough cough.... they’re legalish. I also use my brother’s login to watch things on the specific app for sports. Just find a good friend and borrow their provider sign on.

I had sling. The top tier package has sports and kids channels
I have a zero tolerance of commercials so i cut the cable a long time ago. I watch netflix and a few other services over the internet. that is more than enough . I can barely keep up with netflix . there are too many good shows on. i don't watch sports so it is not a problem. what do YOU like watching? by the way, sweet smile you have
There’s online streaming services for those channels you can subscribe to...I’m sure if you look around google you can find a bunch...we cut cable a few years ago and pretty much just hookup our laptop to the tv to watch stuff we want
Get a good high speed internet service and stream content that way. Using Amazon Prime and Netflix you can get almost all the content you’re getting on cable for less than $20 per month
I cut years ago and do not miss it. As the others have said, Sling has sports options. For me if I want to watch a game I just go to the bar (walking distance or cab)
switched to "Dish".....same channels but a little cheaper....for about a year.......then they raised prices....eventually switched to Direct ......cheaper for a year or so too....
What we did for sports is my parents have a sports package on their cable and don't use the internet. So I just use their account to live stream everything. :D
