is christmas less joyful when you haven’t and won’t have children?

i don’t have a big family - just me and my hubby. since my mom passed i feel like christmas is more about childhood joy.

@Allelse i loved it at ur age too but as i grow older and my parents not really present and brothers are distant... i feel christmas is somewhat lost. it’s just me and my husband. if i didn’t have him i prob wouldn’t even observe it.

As an adult I've done all I can to make sure Christmas for me is simply my wife and I, so my mother dying or my family dying wouldn't make much a difference for me.

@Allelse what kind of awesome things do you do?
