Why does everyone want me to be social?

I was forced to talk to two relatives this week and both insisted I take college courses in person. Why do I have to be super social and take classes that way? Just because thats how they did it and they’re such successes after all. Whats wrong with being a loner? I see people once in a while and thats all I need. Im fine being by myself, it’s how Ive been all my life. Im a loner and thats fine.

Actually, we're social animals, even if we've been treated poorly.

TBH, online courses are often much less rich than the in-person experience in various ways. But I'm sorry that it felt bad.

Maybe they think it will be good for you to go out and socialize more.. get out of your comfort zone.. who knows you might like it or not idk

The "human is social being" has become a tool for people to project their own inability to make peace with their aloneness . They only know who they are if there is bunch of people throwing compliments. It is junkies needing an extra junkie to feel justified for their junky life being the norm.
