Had a scare last night :(

Mum needed to go to emergency,
She kept insisting it wasn't a big deal but went anyway to be sure (hard to get that woman to see a doctor)

But she said her heart was racing,

I know a racing heart can just be too much caffeine or anxiety, but we have an oxymetre that not only said her heart rate was high, but i noticed the rhythm was really irregular, which is when you start worry.

And i was all like: nah betch, you going to the hospital.

Turns out, she wasnt having a heart attack, which is a huge relief,
But she was diagnosed with afib,

I'm just glad she's alive.
Especially after losing my uncle earlier this year

I had a health scare with my own mom a few years back. Her iron levels were really low, indicative of internal bleeding which could be something serious like cancer. Thankfully, it ended up being a hiatal hernia, which is common among people her age. She needed surgery, but it was a minor process and she was discharged in no time. But still, the thought of her having cancer was very scary. Really had me thinking I am so not ready for my parents to be going through health problems.

I'm glad it ended up being nothing serious for your mom too. Good that you made her go to the hospital. Shame that she has AFib, but at least now you know. Hope she can get treated easily enough.

@Ducky yeah, another thing that had me worried is that she was complaining about feeling malaise for a while, which is a sign of something, especially with the symptoms she was feeling last night.

She promised me she gonna start seeing a gp,
But i just hope she's not complacent about it...

Im glad things worked out for your mum too 🫂
