Letter from my mother

So I got a very touching letter from my mother today. It was sent to my first house from when I was married.

Son

I am writing to inform you that I have finalized the sale of the house and will be relocating to a retirement facility in the near future.

Given your continued insistence on attributing your circumstances to what I consider an unsubstantiated and juvenile condition, I have determined that you will not receive any portion of the proceeds from the sale.

However, out of concern for the well-being of my biological grandchildren, I have established individual savings accounts for each of them. These accounts are restricted and may not be accessed until they either reach the age of 25 or are enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution.

To be explicitly clear, these funds are designated for them alone and are not to be used in any way for your partner’s son. He is not a member of this family, and in my view, allocating resources toward his future would be a misuse of funds, as I do not believe he is likely to succeed or contribute meaningfully. I have no intention of supporting the consequences of others’ decisions.

At some point after I am settled, I may be willing to see my grandchildren. I will provide further information regarding a potential visit, including the expectations for their appearance, at that time.

Sincerely
Mom

So there a great way to start the day

Wow!!! That was quite a rude and condescending letter. At least your children are getting a trust fund so they can use in the distant future. I can see why you blocked all communication with her.
@Barefooter25 I'm honestly surprised she even did that for my kids. She also doesn't believe in my daughter's needs and thinks I need to discipline her more and teach her how to be a true lady not a wild child as she calls her.

@Cigarguy101 The good thing is that Sissy and your son have Joel's mom and grandmother when it comes to loving and caring grandparents.

@Cigarguy101 That and the fact she wants to see your kids without asking your permission. Talk about being pushy.
