Very humbling moment

I am very weak from everything that I've been though this past week. Today was a reminder of that

I had to use the restroom and needed to get up and walk anyway. So I had Joel on my left side holding me and my buddy was on the right side. I can handle move my right arm from the surgery so he didn't have a hold of me. We got to the restroom and as we made our way back my legs just gave out on me and I went down.

Luckily I didn't hurt myself but I just couldn't get up, and Joel and my buddy were afraid to try and left me up and risk hurting me more or popping a stitch.

Joel has about to call 911 because he has so worried about getting me up.

Thankfully Grandma was there and she called Joel's ex wife. She came over with a gate belt and the 3 of them got me up into a wheelchair and back into the recliner.

Just a painful reminder that I'm still very weak and need to take it very slow.

Next time I have to use the restroom we're going to use the wheelchair, and do my daily walking not at the same time.

I don't know how I got this group of people around me helping me out right now but I'm so thankful for them

Good thing is no one saw my butt this time 😂

I texted Joel all through it, so I am laughing at your butt joke! 🤣🤣🤣
Cigarguys · 41-45, C
@4meAndyou good I'm glad you laughed at that.

Yes it's a good thing you have them. My legs have been incredibly weak since I was in the hospital last October. I'm one who cannot get out of a chair without using my arms and falling is always a fear being alone. Keep those legs working when you can.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Cigarguys ask them about exercise you can do in the chair while at home. You don't have to worry about falling and they keep me from getting worse. My biggest problem is lost calve muscle
Cigarguys · 41-45, C
@Gibbon I will, I felt so helpless that I couldn't get up when I fell. And Joel and my buddy were so afraid to lift me up because they didn't want to hurt me. Tomorrow we will be much more careful until we can talk to the pt

@Cigarguys do you have a port in your arm. I had one for two weeks but I didn't even feel it's existence.
I learned from my late husband’s illness how fast muscles go weak just by being in bed for a few days. Luckily, they come back.
@Cigarguys Thank you, J. That was 2009 and although I miss him a lot, the pain has eased.

@Mamapolo2016 loss is always hard no matter how long ago it was. I still miss my sister very much
@Cigarguys Yes, there are times.

You have to be really extra careful. It's a good thing Joel and your buddy were there for you. It's also good that grandma called Joel's ex-wife. Hopefully after this happened, you were able to rest and watch the Savannah Bananas play tonight.
