Very humbling moment

I am very weak from everything that I've been though this past week. Today was a reminder of that

I had to use the restroom and needed to get up and walk anyway. So I had Joel on my left side holding me and my buddy was on the right side. I can handle move my right arm from the surgery so he didn't have a hold of me. We got to the restroom and as we made our way back my legs just gave out on me and I went down.

Luckily I didn't hurt myself but I just couldn't get up, and Joel and my buddy were afraid to try and left me up and risk hurting me more or popping a stitch.

Joel has about to call 911 because he has so worried about getting me up.

Thankfully Grandma was there and she called Joel's ex wife. She came over with a gate belt and the 3 of them got me up into a wheelchair and back into the recliner.

Just a painful reminder that I'm still very weak and need to take it very slow.

Next time I have to use the restroom we're going to use the wheelchair, and do my daily walking not at the same time.

I don't know how I got this group of people around me helping me out right now but I'm so thankful for them

Good thing is no one saw my butt this time 😂

Yes it's a good thing you have them. My legs have been incredibly weak since I was in the hospital last October. I'm one who cannot get out of a chair without using my arms and falling is always a fear being alone. Keep those legs working when you can.

@Gibbon I will be having PT on my legs starting Monday, 3 days a week. So hopefully that will help. I just need to build my strength up but it will take time. I couldn't push myself up because I can barely move my right arm. I just couldn't get up. And they don't want to hurt me. We'll do better tomorrow.

@Cigarguys it's really frustrating when your brain says you can do this and your body says like hell you can

@Gibbon yeah this is something I'm not used to for sure

@Cigarguys you've got that youth still you'll recover quickly.

@Gibbon I sure hope so. I don't like this feeling of being so helpless. I'm supposed to be taking care of them.

@Cigarguys understand but now you have to let them take care of you.

@Gibbon I don't think we could handle any more bad news. I'm praying for a calm summer with no health issues. We really need I break, I need a break. I'm tired but I keep fighting 😔

@Cigarguys I know you have a hard time being still but this is a time you need to move slowly and only when necessary. There are leg exercises you can do laying back in your chair.

@Gibbon I will be starting PT on Monday for my legs then my right arm at the end of May

@Cigarguys ask them about exercise you can do in the chair while at home. You don't have to worry about falling and they keep me from getting worse. My biggest problem is lost calve muscle

@Gibbon I will, I felt so helpless that I couldn't get up when I fell. And Joel and my buddy were so afraid to lift me up because they didn't want to hurt me. Tomorrow we will be much more careful until we can talk to the pt

@Cigarguys do you have a port in your arm. I had one for two weeks but I didn't even feel it's existence.
