Museums are wonderful. They call up things in you that you didn’t know were there.

I remember, my only visit at the metropolitan museum, where I saw Picasso’s “Woman Ironing” on display.

I was transfixed. Tears poured down my face. Not primarily sad tears - the same kind of tears I cried when I first saw the Rocky Mountains. Awe. Wonder.

I still don’t know why that painting moved me so deeply. It just did.

Went to the King Tut exhibition in Seattle in 1977 a week after Star Wars came out, I have bden fascinated by mummies ever since, Minneapolis had a really cool exhibit in 1981 as well at their museum.
