It's painful, but that's what you have to do with people who lie around all day drinking and getting high and watching cartoons on tv.
Very early in my relationship with the third ex, I suggested that we take in my brother in law, because he had no job and no place to stay. We let him sleep on the sofa in our one bedroom apartment. He drank all the ex's beer, would not look for a job, and watched cartoons all day while laughing like a hyena.
I WANTED to do what I thought was the right thing, but in many instances, doing the right thing is enabling bums to continue in their useless behaviors.
