Me: hey dad, good morning

Dad: did you see the Dodgers game yesterday. They’re back. They’re going to kick Friscos bleep and they’re going to win it all

Me: I’m a Padres fan. You know this. I hate the Dodgers. So do you

Dad: That’s not true. I’be always been a Dodgers fan.

Me: since when?

Dad: since always.

Me: *sigh*

Then I hung up.

Play-off season makes strange bedfellows. Hate the Giants as only a true A's fan can, even to the point of rooting for the Dodgers against them in the past although I hate L.A. also. But this season hard not to be pulling for the Little Engine That Could that has been chugging up that hill all season against all odds against the 21st Century "buy up all the big name players" version of the Yankees, known as the L.A. Dodgers. But at least I acknowledge I am having difficulty getting too enthusiastic in my rooting for the Giants.
