Parenting is hard

Parenting special needs children is even harder. Mostly because many people don't get it. They don't see or understand the extra struggles, the extra care, the extra doctor appointments, the extra everything you need to do to help them. They think the answer is easy, simple and clear. It's not!

How do you tell a young boy he's going to need foot surgery when he's still traumatized by the last time he was in the hospital. How do you help him understand it won't be the same. It will be difficult. His fear is real. There is no easy answer. But we have to find a way

How do you explain to a young girl turning into a young woman to be okay with something that happens to her body is so unpredictable, unregular and messy when she has to have control in her life and when she can't she has dangerous panic attack s. The answer is easier with her. Giving her the pill to stop and control it. But it's still hard she's so young. There could be risks but right now the calm it will give her is worth the risk.

So yes a special needs child is not easy.
