Laws of physics remain undisturbed

Our teenager wants to celebrate the end of her exams (and her school career) with a sleepover at our home this weekend. Just a quiet affair with 17 of her closest friends 😳 My gently expressed reservation that her room and bed may not be up to the challenge of such optimistic ambitions were met with contemptuous teenage eye rolling 🙄

Fortunately the weather is set to be hot and sunny 🌞 And our very understanding neighbour has "agreed" to us taking over the shared garden on Saturday for a large campout and BBQ. So no reason for any girl to be indoors other than to use the facilities. Bed and bedroom will remain intact. Teenager's pursuit of fame and popularity can continue apace.

Apologies in advance to all our neighbours 😁

My suggestion is that you put HER in charge of the catering.
@emmasfriend if you can afford either door dash or a really messy kitchen.

@Roundandroundwego If I remember correctly she is destined for a 'hospitality' internship
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@emmasfriend She is and normally would do so willingly 🙂 But I'm putting her on light duties during her last few weeks of freedom!

I WISH HER TONS OF NONSTOP FUN! 🥳🥳🥳 She deserves it for sure after she worked so hard so I hope she has the best time ever! 😍😍😍 I wish her lots of nonstop fun in her 17 teenage sleepover and I hope she makes the happiest memories! 😌😌😌
17 🫥 Just a few then!

Mind you, my mum came home from work one day for lunch to find me and 14 friends in her living room 👏 She was not pleased.

whoa! Being the father of a daughter who has long since past those teen years. But I do remember having a houseful of laughing an load teenage girls. At the time I was blessed to have two full size bathrooms. I did most of my hiding in the garage.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Degbeme The garage is a luxury at times like this!

I foresee an addendum to the post mentioning the pile of towels, sheets & various other items piled to the ceiling awaiting washing. 😁

How is the younger coping with the notion of a platoon of older girls in her space? Is she hoping to jump right into the festivities or hunker down in the relative quiet her room?
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@ineedadrink She's always included in her big sister's plans, but I suspect she will choose to spend a quieter evening with us 🙂

@ShenaniganFoodie I suspect pizza will be the popular all round option!

I do fear for your sanity...
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Convivial We just need to get the BBQ done without setting fire to our home . . then the gin awaits 🍸
That way even if they do all show up, it'll probably be okay. Maybe you'd better provide a sprinkler and suggest people dress to get wet, so nobody gets heat stroke.

"Teenager's pursuit of fame and popularity..."

🤣🤣🤣
No chaperones needed

Time to distribute to the neighborhood some noise cancelling headphones.

Are there any optimized to mask high pitched giggling?

At least they won't be pissed.

I cannot speak for the neighbors, though.

@SunshineGirl

I do not know the legal age there, but here it is 21!

Parents would go to jail!
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@JoyfulSilence 18 years here, but my daughter is already a militant teetotaller and alcohol is generally seen as uncool among the young. Makes life a little easier 🙂

@SunshineGirl

At least their weed won't stink up the house. 🤪
