End of week report

I was emailed a copy of the report on my daughter's efforts during her week's work experience in hospitality. Some mainly lovely remarks which have put a big smile on my face 😊

From Wednesday, when she was working on reception:

"M quickly captivated guests and colleagues alike with her bubbly personality, positive energy, and wide range of conversational topics. She proved herself to be an excellent ambassador for the hotel and Bristol tourism! While we all appreciated and admired her focus on personal customer interactions, M must not neglect the more routine parts of her job role. Following further discussions with M and in view of her stated preference to focus on the catering side of the business, we decided to substitute Thursday's planned placement hosting in the restaurant area with an additional session under supervision in the kitchen." 🙂

Translated (my interpretation only):

"M spent most of the day talking to anyone and everyone about anything that came into her head. She was so busy "interacting" with the public that she neglected some basic, yet essential, tasks: like issuing guests with the correct room keys. Eventually a long queue formed and the assistant manager developed a migraine. Rather than risk a repetition the following day which could clog up the entire service pipeline, we took the decision to put her in the kitchen with D, another incurable chatterbox, in the vague hope that they might actually get some work done." 🤣

I've also been called in for a meeting next week to discuss possible paid work for junior over the summer holidays 🙂

That beats the vile report that I received for one of my students many years ago after she had done her work experience in a drapery shop. Basically all the odious owner/manager could write was that the poor lass was too overweight to be able to stay on her feet all day in retail. What a terrible thing to write about a 15-year-old. We never placed anyone there again.
@FreddieUK What a horrible thing to write about a teenager!

@SunshineGirl We made sure she didn't see it and it never made it to her school file.
@FreddieUK Thank God—and you and the others that protected her!
