Grandma to the rescue

So Star and the kids are planning to go to the water park today. It's summer now so the kids can sleep in. And they were up late last night because of the game, so I was a little surprised when Sissy got up as I was getting ready for work.

Hey kiddo your up early.

Daddy do you think I can spend the day with Grandma.

Do you not want to go to the water park.

Not really my stomach hurts

Do you want some Tums or Pepto-Bismol

No daddy my stomach just hurts

Then it dawned on me. That was our code we came up with for that time of the month.

Yeah Star bought it for me

Ok let me text her.

I send her the text and she answers back almost instantly

Oh I would love to spend the day with her. Honestly I was feeling a little down today so this really cheered me up. Maybe we'll make cookies if she's up to it.


Yes said yes kiddo so pack what you need and I'll drop you off on the way over. She wants to make cookies.

She smiled and rushed off to her room.
