You know what I think, but my heart goes out to you in this really difficult time. There is light, though.
@ChampagneOnIce .. Thank you .. ❤

A day at a time.

How are things going? Is your house on the market? When I divorced my first wife, I bought her out by paying her
half the equity in the house. Of course it was a small house, and it was 1989, so very different money wise.

I should have deducted the taxes from the equity I paid her, but I didn't know. My future wife (married 30 years now)
told me that. I'm glad I married an accountant.

@BrandNewMan I did really well when I sold that little house. Like you I did a lot of the work myself.

Is she paying you for the work you are doing? I'm sure the answer is no, but she should, since she
will be benefitting from your labor.
@DogMan Its on the list for my lawyer of things to address in settlement proposal

@BrandNewMan 🍻 I don't think she realizes how much a guy can make in construction LOL. Keep track of your
hours.

I went through something similar...but I sold my share of the house to the ex for "$1 and other valuable considerations". If I had waited for the house to sell, I would still be there...probably buried in the cement in the basement...🤣🤣🤣
@4meAndyou Yeah, my options are limited in buying her out w a son still in college and am not doing something that hurts me financially. She's doing too much of that already.

Hoping she decides to move out once school year ends .. we'll see.

I tried to file a few times over the years but dropped it.. is this something you both want or need or is there a conflict in this split? It seems a bit tinged with rage?
YoMomma ·
@BrandNewMan yeah especially if it only requires moderate fixes that don't require expensive permits 😏
@YoMomma Permits are not expensive there .. and I have the tools/skills, or family with them, for just about anything I'd need to do.

@BrandNewMan ah nice

Keep biting your tongue - the hassle of fighting isn't worth it, and nothing said will matter at this point. Wishing you a decently peaceful next few days.
@LadyBronte Thank you.
