Getting divorced

I wanted to share something personal with you. I’ve never publicly been open about my marriage, but I have told a couple of you privately over the years I’ve been here.

After a long and often turbulent journey, several trial separations, we’ve decided to divorce. honestly our marriage wasn’t healthy from the start—it was marked by constant ups and downs, and we both carried a quiet sadness for years.

The turning point came sitting on the beach in Barcelona where he brought up divorce and I told him I’d been thinking the same thing for a long time. We talked openly and, surprisingly, we both felt a deep sense of relief.

We’re not heartbroken—we’re actually at peace. We care for each other in our own way and hope to build a respectful, friendly connection moving forward.

Wanted to share this with you because I may have posts about this as I move forward and Maybe need some advice here and there as I step into this new chapter of my life.

Thanks for listening

I both hate this for you, and at the same time I'm happy for you that you've found a way through it.

Life happens, things change and we have to follow the path that leads us to where we need to go.

I know my ex and I came through a divorce and have remained friends and still support one another, so I hope this is the outcome for you.

There will be struggles, but in the end you'll both be the better for it.

i heard that some people are happier and better friends after divorce.. breakups are sad but considering you both agree you want it it should be a peaceful process 🥹 some people get back together after divorce others move on but life is short so why live in misery and happiness deprivation and emotional chill if one doesn't have to? sigh

@Prettybratbi1tch me too. I’ll do my best.
I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. Sadly, I'm familiar with the experience. If you need an ear, I'm here!🤗🥰

@Guardian thank you Guardian! Just doing some groundwork and research on where to start right now. We have a separation agreement that we prepared but never signed from several years ago so we’ll probably use that one and just modify it a bit and get the paperwork filed
@Jenny1234 always better to do it amicably whenever possible!
