I bought a Jeep

Bought a 4runner, went to the coast for a week, bought lingerie because my ex didn't like me wearing it. Smiled a lot!

I booked a holiday.

I have taken to the gym and exercise in a really massive way. I want to look the best i can be. He stole my best years and it was a miserable existence for those 18 years.. However in saying that I wouldn't have my kids.

After the second one I began to breathe again and started working on the financial whole she created. My nerves began to settle even while dealing with how to pay the bills

It was around my birthday so had a pub crawl with all my female friends actually lol. Otherwise just worked out, planned travel and hung out w friends.

Sold the house and moved into an townhouse for a while

Invest in yourself! New clothes hair and makeup. Work out. Lose some weight if you need too. Learn something new or engage in a hobby your spouse held you back from experiencing. Travel! Find a lover!

You could start by going to a church or temple take the almightys blessings for a new start ..

I don't remember -- my only divorce was a no-fault deal 50+ years ago and I totally forgot about it until I happened to see my ex-wife walking down the sidewalk in front of the county offices on the day it was due to be finalized and she was signing the papers.

Go to the gym, take on a new hobbie. Bring a pet dog or cat into your home if you don't have one already.

I breathed a sigh of relief. It just got to be too much

I spent several months on the other side of the country at my uncle's house, enjoying the sunshine, the pool, the horses etc.

Then I decided to make a new (single) life in a new country. Been here fifteen years now.

I took time off and went on a vacation to a resort. Being alone with my thoughts was a BIG mistake. So when I returned I did counselling, about 3 or 4 sessions. After that it was all about building a routine without that person in my life, and, setting challenging short term goals to occupy my mind and focus my energy on recovering and moving on.

I was pretty dazed. I took a few days off of work. I needed to regroup and refocus. It wasn't at all like many people make it out to be, I wasn't celebrating in the streets, I was sad.
