Divorce: do I need a lawyer if we have no assets or kids?

So far I know I'll have to wait out the year separated before I can have it done. I rent. He rents. No kids. We have our own vehicles and split the household stuff when he moved out. I just want this done as cheaply and quickly as possible.

I thnk you still have to hire a lawyer to legally divorce even though splitting no assets. But, y'all do not ha e to hire separate lawyers. Just have one to draw up the proper papers to make it legal.
