EDIT - I am no attorney so take this as my personal observation...
If there are no assets to split, it would make no sense to hire attorneys.
Usually the reason people bring in attorneys is if the couple cannot agree on how things will be split up, assuming there is much to even split.
In a "no asset" divorce, hiring an attorney would typically cost more than the household stuff is worth.
That was the case when I divorced, we didn't own much of anything, neither of us had any real earning potential aside d3ad b3at jobs so easy divorce.
But in any case, getting attorneys involved just makes for a long, messy divorce.
