"That's lovely honey!"

Do we have to love everything our children make and proudly present us?

How long is an acceptable time to have it on display for before you hide it in a cupboard?

It's Pikachu apparently and not a creative depiction of a demon that's going to suck out my soul but I can't say it's not going to be a feature of a recurring nightmare.

Bless him. He tried and the thought was there lol

Yeah my mom was never sentimental about our homemade stuff lol. She would keep it on the fridge or mantel for a week, then it was tossed out. She only kept the things that were actually really well done. She still has a couple of Christmas ornaments my brother and I made, and a couple of the better drawings.

It never hurt our feelings that she tossed the stuff out. She would just explain the logic behind it ("Mommy has to throw out the old to make room for the new!") and we were just like "Ok." 🤷🏻‍♀️

@DearAmbellina2113 aww, I have a hard time usually but this one is kind of scary in the dark lol
@DearAmbellina2113 I like that idea

This you must keep forever and when you die it can either be buried with you or presented to the person who most enthusiastically reacted to it y'know like people do out of politeness.
No, no, I've had a great idea! Show it to everybody who visits and give it to the most enthusiastic as a gift and secretly film their reaction. In fact you could make a series of these and have a whole Yout channel about it, you'll be a millionaire! And don't forget ol' GeniUs when this happens.

@GeniUs When they die, their ashes must be contained within. In order to manifest this beast, it demands sacrifice.

Auction that thing together with a starting bid of $10...it's a win win!
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
It looks like a talismanic artifact to scare away evil spirits.
I gave up having a stylish , well decorated house when my daughter was a kid lol. Maybe he will lose interest in it.
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, F
@JimboSaturn it's not going to happen anytime soon, he's autistic and he LOVES Pokémon so it will probably still be an interest when he's 30. He might keep it in his room eventually though 🙂

My Egon sense is detecting some otherworldly demonic energies emanating from this totem. This unholy abomination should never have been manifested.

RoxClymer · 41-45, M
keep it to show them in 20 yrs after they graduate Art College

I made a similarly dumb-looking thing, meant to be an ashtray, when I was about 8. My mother, bless her heart, kept it on a shelf near the kitchen window for years.

It may have still been there when I left for college at 18.
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, F
@RedBaron My mum did the same with a 'house' I made. Let's just say it had some serious structural problems 😂 but she did a good job of making me believe she loved it ❤️
Mine made "not an ashtray" that looks almost identical to the ashtrays we made as kids. Better part, looks like a marijuana leaf stamp in it
DogMan · 61-69, M
Isn't that the Mexican Pro wrestler guy? What's his name?
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, F
@DogMan it's meant to be Pikachu 🙂
Catzgano · 31-35, F
I “accidentally” break things if I have no other choice lol
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, F
@Catzgano Ive done that with very annoying toys before now lol
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
It will definitely keep the unwanted guests wondering. 👹
He'll get better, they won't all look like Pennywise Pikachu.😂
Well...it's a *kid*'s effort. Encourage him!

Don't hide it. It's what he made with his own hands...wait...he's not in college, right?
@Patientlywaiting Just remember, this is a precious object created by your precious child...it's an expression of him, his creativity, his love.

It's beautiful.
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, F
@SomeMichGuy my other son made me a depiction of the stabbing of the minotaur lol.
@Patientlywaiting Greek & Japanese mythologies in your home!
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
Quite freakish looking.....
DogMan · 61-69, M
I still have the little clay imprint of my hand that I made in kindergarten

in 1964 😱
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, F
@DogMan I did the same with all my children ❤️
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
It’s still more impressive than if I tried it
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, F
@ButterRobot me too!
dimfok · 22-25, M
I think it looks a bit cute if I’m honest
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Get him into Warhammer 40k.
He can paint as much scary things as he likes then.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Convince your kid to make something else to replace that with lol

I don’t keep everything my kids make 🤭
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Patientlywaiting at school here they have started doing more things with photos and they laminate the projects which has been really nice.
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, F
@iamonfire696 oh yeah like hanging Christmas ornaments with a photo inside, I have a bunch of those that the kids made and I love them 🙂
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Patientlywaiting I love those too
