Ok that's it. No more answering the phone when my friend with 2 kids calls.

She doesn't have the courtesy to go to a quieter room before she calls me, she NEVER asks the children to play quietly, and I can hear the 4 year old SCREAMING in the background every time she calls. 🗣

Look, I'm sorry you landed yourself into pseudo-parenthood (they're not her bio children but she's dating their mom), but I deliberately made the choice to NOT have kids so I wouldn't have to deal with what you're dealing with. 🙅🏻‍♀️

DO NOT CALL ME UNLESS YOU ARE ALONE IN YOUR CAR.

I fell out with an aunt over her kids who were treated as adults and allowed to interrupt the conversation and repeat snide remarks about me they'd obviously said in front if the kids. Things like "mum told dad you should be settled down married instead of going out all the time and dad said you've got plenty of money". I understand people do talk about you, but not in front of the kids.
I can't stand talking with people on the phone with that kind of noise in the background. I have one friend who's dog demands her attention when she and I are talking. She's constantly having to deal with him, sometimes more than talking with me. It really gets in the way.
Try that but anytime until 10PM and interrupting date night on my wife's family side 😂

That was MOST of my time on the phone with New York Unemployment reps.
Two teething children and two or three dogs(mandatory).

It's called an OFFICE. Get one and weld the door shut.
