Complaints about public breastfeeding

Today in a local community facebook group an anonymous poster made a complaint about a woman breast-feeding in public and how it offended the person.

Here in Australia public breastfeeding is a protected right under laws both federal and state.

In NSW, Australia, specifically it is legal to breastfeed your baby in any public place under both federal and state laws, specifically the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 and the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. You cannot be asked to leave a public space, cover up, or stop breastfeeding your baby because of these laws. If someone confronts you, remain calm, inform them of your legal right, and seek a staff member or manager if you feel unsafe.
