Is it worth it to change the name you're given at birth?

My real name has nothing but bad memories and toxicity attached to it. I am thinking about changing my name to something i like that isnt attached to the shitty people i call parents

I dunno. I've considered it for the same reasons.. I just don't think changing my name is gonna change what I feel like it will if that makes sense?
