Melania Trump has criticised late-night host Jimmy Kimmel over a joke in which he called her an "expectant widow" just days before a shooting incident at the White House Correspondents' Dinner she attended with the president.

The first lady called Kimmel's remarks "hateful and violent", urging his network, ABC, to take action against his "atrocious behavior".

freedom of speech is a given right no matter if some find some of it toxic and in poor taste.

@4meAndyou the times we live in.............

the courts are already overflowing with frivolous lawsuits, what's one more, right?
@AllycatAD Small point of order: Freedom of speech may be a legal right in America at this time. It is however a privilege that can be taken away at any time. And the simplest way to remove it is to taken the speaker off the air or censure them for speaking. If you want to keep the right to speak, you have to allow ALL speech..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman If i implied a limit then you might of misunderstood
@AllycatAD My point was based on it being a universal Freedom V a legal one. If Trump decides taking his name in vain is a stoning offence, screaming "First Amendment " isnt going to cut it when a firing squad of Oathkeepers kick your door in.. And how far from Minneapolis is that??😷
