Yep. And when he made liver and onions for dinner, I pretty much knew where the dinner table chair would be my seat for the rest of the night.

@Degbeme And I’d have your avocado, although I don’t remember many people eating that when I was a child. I think we ate that later, after we discovered Mexican food. 🥑 My middle sister doesn’t like it either, says the consistency is "weird”. 😅

@bijouxbroussard Your middle sister and I would get along just fine. 🤭

@Degbeme All you, boo boo. All you. And probably one of the reasons why you’ll outlive us all.

Yes for the both of us

Of course.
No.
We helped ourselves from the platters. We've always eaten like that.

@0uijaFinger Did you come from a large family ? My mother was one of ten children and she once told me that’s what they did, buffet style.
@bijouxbroussard Greek. In our house there were only 4 of us, but we always served the food off platters on the table.

@0uijaFinger Very cool. I love Greek food. 😊

My mom always put things on platters or bowls, and we took what we wanted.
Always had a tablecloth on the table, except maybe breakfast.
She was brought up like that and continued it.
I didn't always do that, because dishes and having to wash a tablecloth all the time...lol

My mother was a terrible cook. I choked down what I could and left the rest. I was never required to eat everything.

No, but they did make me eat the vegies that I hated.
SleepingWithGhosts · 46-50, M
No, but when I was little, if I didn't want to eat it all, they made me go to bed.

Yes. But it was one of the many things about their parenting style that had changed by the time our youngest sister came along. When she said she was full, they came to accept it, because if she was forced to eat more, she would vomit.

Yes I was told kid were starving in Biafra. I didn`t even know where that was.

For a very short while, when I went through a picky period of not liking a lot of different foods, my mother tried making me eat all my food, but I found ways around that until she gave up on policing my intake.
Punxi · F
Nah....they just provided an opportunity to eat.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I don't remember. But I remember my aunt's "when the big hand is at 6 all this food will have been EATEN!!!" with her kids. 😂
