Heartbreaking

I'm visiting my dad and he hasn't had any food or drink all day. I tried to give water , he took two sips and yelled I want to rest! He's in hospice with aggressive Lymphoma cancer. This is awful. He looked at me for ten seconds and said oh it's cold out? And fell right to sleep. He has never slept this much, even at the hospital. The cancer is making him so fatigued.

I know in another few days he probably won't reply at all. I'm mad and sad. I'm scared. He's only 72 it's not fair. I wish we could watch the movie I brought like we used to..but I have a feeling he'll be sleeping my whole visit. It really is the small thing like a movie and just talking to someone we take for granted. I would give anything to have him be awake again, watching tv with me. 😞

I took care of my dad when he had cancer. When cancer came back they put my dad in hospice. The first week he was his normal self. The second week he slowed way down. The third week he was bed ridden. The second day of the fourth week he was gone. When they stop eating and drinking it is almost over. I am so sorry you are having to go through this. 😢💔

I'm sorry of your dad's battle too🙁it was just so sad to see him not drink anything in a whole day because I know dehydration will now begin soon. This is an awful affliction and you truly wonder WHY. I Appreciate your kindness 🪻@Musicman @Musicman

@Coralmist Cancer is a horrible disease. At the end I hired home health care to be with him 24/7. The nurse asked if I would help her get him out of bed and in a chair so she could change the sheets and his pajamas. When she had his shirt off his stomach was physically gone. Everything was all sunken in. He literally looked like someone from the German concentration camps. I was absolutely floored. I had no idea he had deteriorated that badly. A couple of days later he was gone. 💔😢

@Musicman For my dad, there's puffy edema all over his legs and arms. The Lymphoma causes fluid leakage and buildup. Plus lots of deep purple bruises, from the cancer cells taking over and pressed on vessels. All within two weeks. It's horrible. I'm sorry also your dad declined so much 😢 It's just terrible all around.

@Coralmist He got a pimple on his jaw. We didn't think anything of it. Then he got a second and a third. The doctor tested them. They were cancerous. In two weeks they grew in size and turned into 22 pimples with the largest being the size of a nickel. ☹
