@MellyMel22 At least you got your painting. 😊 Does everyone still talk and get along?
MellyMel22 · F
@Musicman Yes! And yes, but that Aunt lives out of state.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@MellyMel22 Even better! 🙂🙂🙂

I'm glad you fought for it and I'm glad you got to keep it ...and I'm sorry you had to have this argument.
MellyMel22 · F
@Boeing Thank you. I was glad my cousin was honest about it.
Adrift · 61-69, F
@MellyMel22 I have cut off all ties with a sister.
I figure if the relationship didn't mean enough to her not to cross certain lines, than it shouldn't mean enough for her to miss it.
I hope she enjoys her stuff and the way she got it.

@Adrift Yeah, she doesn’t deserve your time.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Even worse, a sister of mine gave away everything to strangers that she didn’t want. Now if that isn’t hateful & spiteful I don’t know what is. She got caught giving things to nursing home employees which was likely illegal for them to take that stuff.
MellyMel22 · F
@cherokeepatti That’s horrible. My older cousin did that when my Aunt(diff one) went into a care center knowing she’d not be living alone anymore. I asked him to save me something to remind me of her and he didn’t save anything for anyone. When my Aunt started barely talking she grabbed my wrist and was saying, “Where’s my stuff?! Find my stuff!” 🥺 She used to collect porcelain dolls that were very expensive and she had specific ones for certain people that she wanted to have if something ever happened to her. My cousin put them all in storage and they were mostly broken when he passed shortly after. I was supposed to handle her health and everything else, but her son decided to come back into her life after she had a stroke. He did everything the opposite of what she wanted.
Adrift · 61-69, F
@cherokeepatti It is illegal and they aren't supposed to accept it.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Adrift yes I heard that. And you know what? When I was diagnosed with cancer in 2023 I made up my mind not to let her or my other sister know about it. After my hair fell out and I had to wear hats etc. I drove to the next city to shop, or ordered groceries online and picked them up or had them delivered. That’s how strong I feel about them knowing, and to prevent them from coming around to exploit me or anyone else to get what they want from anything I’ve left behind. They both can make any bad situation worse.

Yes
I have a couple of family members like that
My feeling
They can keep all of it
I'm making my way, and they will never sniff any of it
I'll gladly help anyone who is gracious and kind

You're so cute and I'm glad you got that pretty painting you were promised. 💜

@SinlessOnslaught Thsnk youuuu

My aunt gave away millions in cash and property that was earmarked for my family, particularly my brother and I. It was given away to strangers to spite us.
I never had a single argument with her.
My grandparents are rolling in their graves.

@uncalled4 That’s terrible. She should be ashamed of herself!
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@MellyMel22 We only found out after reading her will. She really showed us!
MellyMel22 · F
@uncalled4 Wow!!
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
My grandfather he had old timers. Maybe your grandmother was confused and thought she was u
MellyMel22 · F
@smileylovesgaming I was the only person who didn’t catch her at some point unsure of who I was except a brief few seconds once. Soon as I said, gram- do you know who I am? I’m your fav granddaughter! She called my name right away. But even her own children it happened a lot with. It’s so sad when it happens to anyone 😔
ImperialAerosolKidFromEP · 51-55, M
Not directly. My dad stole his late brother's house which was supposed to go to their parents. That's a pretty big one, but not a direct one
MellyMel22 · F
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP Idk how people like this live with themselves.
Punxi · F
Unfortunately they say money is often thicker than blood.
Good for you.
Great picture.

@Punxi Def seems that way! Thank you 🤍
Adrift · 61-69, F
I learned pretty early that you learn alot about who people really are after somebody close to you dies.
MellyMel22 · F
@Adrift That’s been my experience too!
SpectralMourning · 41-45, M
Yes I have dealt with someone like that but damn if you didn't handle it way more savage than I did.
MellyMel22 · F
@SpectralMourning Its sentimental 🥺
SpectralMourning · 41-45, M
@MellyMel22 I get it...you were totally in the right to stand up for it. And even almost adorable in the way you rubbed it in her face.
MellyMel22 · F
@SpectralMourning Thank you 🤭
empanadas · 31-35, M
Bruh im dealing that with land and businesses. It's wild that people who dont see on holidays nor even have the same last name as you trying to pretend they should get a piece of inheritance for merely saying hi to the relative that passed away. People annoy me when it comes to money
MellyMel22 · F
@empanadas Yesh, that’s pretty low. People can be so screwed up. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that.
empanadas · 31-35, M
@MellyMel22 to thicken the plot this person did everything they can to embarrass us in public. It's just astounds me how people change up when money is involved
MellyMel22 · F
@empanadas Thats really screwed up! So many do.
The funny thing is that it seemed to be a lie about the pic being worth money b/c my dad was working on his will. It was like she wanted him to think I was set up and didn’t need whatever it was he was leaving me so that he could give it to her son or the others. She hates me b/c I was raised closest to him.

That would be worth fighting for
Even if it wasn't worth a dime !
Even if it wasn't worth a dime !
MellyMel22 · F
@Pretzel The crazy thing is it was my dad’s wife who made a huge deal about it and right when my dad was doing his will 😒 I don’t think it’s worth much if anything. I don’t care though b/c even that brief moment of it being possibly worth over $40,000, I said I’d never sell it. It’s too sentimental to me.
Money does that to people
MellyMel22 · F
@TheDeathOCuHullainn Its sickening.
