How would you feel if your parents won or came across a lot of money, but they put stipulations on the money they will give you.
Like for example saying you can get a million dollars only if you get your doctorate degree l.

I think it would depend on the stipulation they have put in place. If they had said to me, “you will receive a trust fund, but only if you go back to college and get your degree” I would have accepted it. But if the stipulation is that I have to get a very specific type of degree or career that I have no interest in or that I have to marry a certain person I don’t want in order to have access to the money, THEN I would be pissed.

@pdockal You're ardently defending imaginary parents with imaginary money against an emotional reaction to a made-up premise. Accusing me of jealousy over a fiction just shows you’ve lost the plot. But by all means, do carry on lecturing me on why I’m not entitled to money that doesn’t actually even exist and probably never will. It’s a great use of your time, I’m sure. This is, however, the last I will say on the matter. I have better uses for my time than this, so… have fun with continuing to double down on an imaginary scenario, I guess. 🤷♀

Its their money and they can put any legal conditions on it they wish. Those are the facts. However, achieving a Doctorate requires an aptitude you may not possess. So thats unfair. Maybe insisting you purchase a home or put money aside for your childrens tuition would be more practical..😷

They would’ve never put such stipulations on it, mainly because they have at least one child of whom they’d never require anything beyond drawing breath.
