share your tips for bad weather driving...mine include:

1. apply a thin coat of vegetable oil or vaseline on the car door gaskets so they dont freeze shut. also squirt wd-40 into door locks and window tracks so dont burn up the motor.
2. keep a broom, scraper, and straight blade shovel in trunk, may need shorten handle on shovel.
3. when arrive at work, place shovel and broom UNDER the car where it will be easy to retrieve for cleaning off your vehicle.
4. on a hill during snow\ice downshift to low gear rather than using the brake.
5. if there is no traffic in the way, i ignore stop lights and signs. once you lose traction it may be impossible to get going again without assistance.

Buy a jeep wrangler …never failed me in the winter.
Drive like you're in a hurry on a clear day, stay bumper to bumper with anyone in front of you and cut in front of oncoming traffic like it's Frogger.

Drive more slowly
Leave more space between cars
Remember your momentum is different than your car.

Or just don't go out in bad weather
Never roll down your window in freezing weather, I accidentally did that with my maternal aunt's car when I was 11 in 1981, the plastic gears were brittle from the cold and snapped, the window literally just slid down into the door on its own.
