Wish I Had A Sibling 😒😒

The worst emotion known as jealousy keeps getting ignited every time I see siblings together or hear stories about siblings and how they got each other's back and guide each other or what one does for the other

Even in everyday lifestyle. I was always alone and didn't understand a lot of things and learnt things very late because I was alone growing up

Then u hear, my brother or sister did this or for me or bought this or that for me or 2 of them jus having this good laugh and weird understanding between each other. Usually capped of with the remark "its a sibling thing"

I think I changed the whole mood of the room when I said "I wouldn't know, I was always alone"

Shouldn't have said that but a part of it hurt because knowing my mum had a miscarriage before me made it more difficult because I keep thinking and wondering how much more different life could have been

I'm sorry you didn't have a sibling. I hate to put a damper on things but sometimes siblings aren't what you think. I have a sister but she's not a sister to me. Not even a friend. She's just very distant and always has been. I can't even confide in her or talk to her or ask advice, nothing. You know you could maybe try and find a really great friend and then adopt each other is brothers or a brother and sister. That would be nice because sometimes outside friends treat you better than your own brother or sister. I always wished I'd had a brother. But anyway, you take good care of yourself and I hope you'll find a really great friend that feels like a sibling. We can always make our own rules, right? Hugs
@LadyGrace

This is exactly why I always wanted 2 children so that they wouldn't be lonely so that they would have each other. I'm sorry that you didn't get to experience that. A close bond with someone can feel like a sibling relationship you don't have to be related by blood to have that.
@AngelUnforgiven
You are absolutely right
It's not necessarily a bad thing but sometimes when u with cousins and their sibling bond comes out, it jus makes u feel different

I know it hurts, but remember — not every sibling relationship is warm or supportive. Many people with siblings still feel alone.

Growing up solo also shaped your strength, independence, and emotional depth in ways you might not even see. What you shared isn’t heavy; it’s human. And sometimes the family we build later turns out better than the one we could’ve been born into.
@Bleak
Thank you so much for your kind words

I didn't think of it that way.
As people say, u never know what happens within 4 walls
So maybe u jus felt this way because of what I see

Thank you again

I have a similar problem. I have 2 sisters that are 12 and 14 years older than me. Yet i feel like an only child or a mistake.
@johnnyz You're not a mistake .. but yes, similar situation. We're more or less just only children. It's like this.

I know how you feel. I'm also an only child. Unfortunately, moms having miscarriages is a part of life.
And then there are those of us who wish we didn't have a sibling...
@Magicianzini
Apologies for that
