Can't believe my dad's been bed bound two years now

I mean, it's unbelievable. He has had a stroke a few years ago and MS, yet he's not in a nursing home , bed bound completely because of those issues. He developed a herniated disc in his back three years ago, with excruciating daily pain. He began to not be even able to walk. My mom took care of him and I helped a lot too, but he needed around the clock care. So he went into a nursing home
He had PT in the beginning but because he declined twice, for valid reasons, and then didn't make much progress according to their goals, they just stopped.
It's really sad to see him laying there, never able to even get UP, nevermind walk. The pain is so high.

They do need to start sitting him up though because he still has edema , fluid in his feet. He often defended my abhorrent sociopath mother, so for a while I did not have a close relationship with him. He laughed at me when I cried years ago, after she screamed at me , ridiculed me for the ten thousandth time. To laugh at my suffering, that felt Awful. But it still pangs me to see his life getting smaller and most likely shorter, from laying in a bed endlessly. 🙁

Sorry to hear that Hun... Prayers he gets better... My dad passed in 2019 and he was on his death bed for just a year... So your dad has lasted longer than mine did... Keep Positive... Hope your doing well

@HeWhoWalks39I'm sorry to hear your dad passed 🙁 Did he have an illness?
I really need to talk with a nurse there, they need to sit him up occasionally. He can't be expected to lay in the same position week after week, months after month 😧 Ty for your words🌸

@Coralmist Thanks Hun it's ok... And yeah I would say something about that so they don't just Neglect him so I understand... And your welcome.... With my Dad I had something that nobody else had and I was the ONLY person in the room with him when passed just telling him over and over "Dad I love you" when he went and that meant more to me than anything cause I WAS the one there when he passed in the room no one else ❤❤❤❤

@Coralmist Definitely no. Huge risk for pressure ulcers. Those are awful to cure.
