Only Americans: How big is the 4th July celebrations where you live

I'm right on the East River facing Manhattan. It's a huge mess around here. But worth it. People are in good moods

My doggos were never bothered by the noise. But the sudden bright lights affected them. They used to hang in the yard with their backs turned. Lol

Don't even try driving for 2 hours afterwards

Huge. The town is locked down for a massive parade. Fireworks in neighborhoods go off like the Wild Wild West. It’s insane. There were at least 3 professional quality fireworks displays within a block of my house.

We can just sit by the pool and watch fireworks from all angles. Never a police car, the town simply looks the other way. It’s actually nuts.

Very fun.

I live in a rural so not big, but my manager has a huge house and always puts on a great display of fireworks. Then we go in and party a little.

Not as big as in the past, but I see patriotism making a comeback, even in the blue state I live in. 🙂

Quite small now. We used to have a town display out over the water, on barges, that was worth watching, but since Covid people have not wanted to come out.

Oh, the 4th of July tge America’s official birthday bash! You know, where we celebrate by blowing things up, eating enough barbecue to put a small nation to shame, and pretending we’re all just one big happy family… even when my Uncle Lee starts arguing about politics after his third beer

So yeah, where I live, the 4th of July isn’t just a day, it’s a whole season of fireworks, food, friends, and enough patriotic pride to make the Statue of Liberty blush. And honestly, I wouldn’t want it any other way

Huge, we buy and sell a lot of fireworks, and have at least half a dozen free public shows around the city. 🎆

People are happy. The President is revered and respected. There has been a long list of wins culminating with the BBB. It was a big deal.

The public celebration is quite large, plus many people around have their own private displays that are pretty spectacular, too.

I don't think there are any official ones in my home town. There's one in a small city nearby about 10 min drive.

It is normally very big here but just as the festivities were about to begin we got a thunderstorm and everything was cancelled. 😭
lostlissa · 36-40, F
Well they finished about 3 am this morning

Big enough that it feels like a warzone outside for hours into the night when you're trying to sleep
Unfortunately they are popping fireworks again tonight

Really really big towns and roads are taped off
Were you thinking that non-Americans would be celebrating the 4th of July, ned? 🤣
