Today is Christmas Eve. My sister, my mom, and I are currently celebrating. After a while, my mom asked for a family photo, and I noticed that she and my sister were wearing some kind of matching couple shirts. I jokingly said, "Where's mine?" Then she said she didn’t buy one and started explaining why she didn’t get me one.
Of course, that hurt me. You could say she had her reasons, but this has already happened before, at least over five times. Whenever we celebrate something or go out, they wear matching outfits, and I always look like an outsider. It sucks because she could have just told me she planned to wear matching outfits. Even if she didn’t want to spend money on me, she could have told me, and I could buy one for myself.
But now that I think about it, that kind of hurts more because it feels like I’m forcing myself into the family. Haiyst.

You are not pathetic, it just seems that your parents are now financially much better off.
I do feel sad for you that you never got toys or felt unloved.
Can you talk to your parents or parent and say how you feel?
I think most people in your position would feel jealous so it's not just you.
I hope you feel better and get some answers soon.

Move on please. Sometimes lingering on things like this hugely affects our healing process.
