Were your parents affectionate with each other around you and your siblings?

I don't remember my parents holding hands or kissing, not even on the cheek, not even as little as pet names. They never went out unless it was shopping, funerals or family gatherings.

My father was very restrained. The one time I saw them showing passion, was during a fight when my mother grabbed the sleeve of my father's shirt and tore it. He just turned away and walked to the bedroom and closed the door. My mother stayed there in front of me, yelling out, "Oh sure! Go in your room and pout!" (I was quite small, but I remember crying and yelling, "Mommy, Daddy, PLEASE don't fight!!!")

But they stayed together all of their lives. They never kissed in front of other people. When I was 11 years old, I went to them, where they were sitting together on the sofa, and tried to give them both a good night kiss. That was when my mother told me I was too old for good night kisses.
