What’s it like having kids?

High risk, high reward. Expensive, both in dollars and even more so in time. And you'll find yourself loving them more than anyone else you've ever loved. Sure, it's probably just genetic programming, but it's huge. Just being able to love that much is the high reward. The risk is that things can happen that you as a parent have no control over that could be incredibly painful.

A life long commitment

It depends on the individual if they want that much responsibility

It's a very difficult role to have and responsibility to have but all worth it

My son is the reason I exist. It's really hard, but also really fun. And kids teach you a lot.
