No. My parents were in my life but were never someone that i felt were there to protect me. Particularly my mother... my father had supported me in his own way despite my fuck ups as a kid.

My mother was always worried about what others thought and was very emotional, i never could rely on her to be there for me so she always ended up being my enemy.

Today, i support her financially, but i dont feel the closeness that others have. It's made me lack empathy.
Yes, my mother. I was close to both of them. My father died only a month after, many years ago, where I learned the meaning of saying I love you where my family more felt it should be reserved for moments sincere. I miss him terribly, but I thank something inside myself that told myself to say, I love you, more. So my last words to him are, I love you.

@thewindupbirdchronicles you should always say I love you, but my family doesn’t say I love you as much but it doesn’t need to be said though

No. They're 1000 miles away. I talk to them every couple of months or so. But they do their thing. I do mine. Mom used to be up in my business as much as possible. But since getting married she backed off.
Yes. My father died when I was very young and my mum brought us up alone.
I was very close with her
Love my mom, and my dad. They are better people than I am, and they love me anyway.

My Daddy is strict and controlling, but I love and respect him.
I know Daddy knows best.

I was close to my mom in a way, but my parents passed away years ago.
We became much closer after I grew up. My mother passed away last year and I miss her terribly. I stay in touch with my father; I cooked lunch and took it to him today.

No not really

They are dead now, but yes I was. We had a good relationship throughout my life. They were very supportive of me and my choices, even if they did not understand some of them.

One sleeps upstairs, the other is in Michigan.
@AccursedAlexander3 If I'm wrong, I'll never bet again.
AccursedAlexander3 · 31-35, M
@cinsac you are wrong. They both sleep upstairs, and my mother lives in Michigan. Although, I like to think of God living with me.
@AccursedAlexander3 He must be, because He (God) hasn't been in my neck of the woods since I got kicked out of parochial school. I'm glad you're taking care of him.

Not in that way where they know me super well, but I love them and help them as much as I can and go down to see them often.

My parents died long ago (in my 30s) and while my early years with them were rough, we became close after I hit my early 20s.
