My father died suddenly at home, 800 miles from here. My wife and I moved my mother and her sister to be near us so we could care for them until they died in their 90's.
@exexec My mom is 79 now and as the only unmarried child I feel obliged to take care of her. I’m not sure if it would feel different though if I had a partner. Was it easier for you?
