What did your parents teach you as an child ?

My dad taught me how to fish , how to use an gun , survival skills , car maintance and high way code , tried to teach me how to cook and how to gut and clean out animals for food , I was 5 when I first got taught. My mom mainly taught me how to punch bullies without hurting my fist 🤣

@SW-User one time I was watching this documentary where this lady who was giving this testimony of her supposedly dying, seeing Heaven and being able to come back and talk about it.

She said when she saw Jesus she was asking him why all these bad things happened in her life and she asked why this and why that. Then she asked Jesus why her husband was a narcissist and a bad dad to her son that didn't deserve it. And she said that Jesus said "because of his fathers' example his son would eventually grow up to be a great father"

obviously, we can never know if that lady is telling the truth but I never forgot that. WE are the cocreators of our own lives. We have the power to take bad horrible things and make something good and beautiful out of them 🌺
SW-User
@DeluxedEdition I agree we have that power. But sadly, most don't recognize it. Most reenact what they saw and learned as children. They didn't grow up to be better parents. Otherwise there would be no research or talk of cycles for us to break.
@DeluxedEdition i love everything you said .
Some people use trauma and bad shit to reason why they fail.

Others use it as a stepping stone to be better.

Everything you said re-affirms why i respect you .🤗

I guess my dad taught me how to work hard and how not to treat a child. My mom taught me how to care about others and how to embrace people different than us. Different religion. Different skin color. Different customs. Differences.
SW-User
@SW-User I like that
SW-User
Thank you @SW-User.

Other than the basic stuff like cooking and cleaning, nothing. I had to learn most stuff on my own.
SW-User
@Henal I think it teaches independece but in my opinion parents should teach you life skills
Dlrannie · 31-35, F

They tried to teach us their queer religion and to sacrifice everything or we'd go to hell. Oneday i refused to go there anymore and got disowned
My parents taught me that when something is broken, doesnt mean its useless.
They taught me the beauty in old things, how to fix and make stuff , and how to be open, as they were so closed .
SW-User
@OogieBoogie thats amazing 🌸
SW-User
