My parents taught me how NOT to behave by their example of behavior lmao 🤣

@DeluxedEdition funny how parents are intended to teach the do, not the don't. Yet it is these lessons that stick out the most to us.

SW-User
@DeluxedEdition at least you learnt from their mistakes and not repeated it

@SW-User I think the most important thing we can do as parents is to recognize that. and not to allow habits of generational trauma to inflict our children's lives because it's all we know.

@DeluxedEdition I agree 100%. It's up to us to break the cycles. I'm proud to say I succeeded when raising my daughters.

@SW-User one time I was watching this documentary where this lady who was giving this testimony of her supposedly dying, seeing Heaven and being able to come back and talk about it.
She said when she saw Jesus she was asking him why all these bad things happened in her life and she asked why this and why that. Then she asked Jesus why her husband was a narcissist and a bad dad to her son that didn't deserve it. And she said that Jesus said "because of his fathers' example his son would eventually grow up to be a great father"
obviously, we can never know if that lady is telling the truth but I never forgot that. WE are the cocreators of our own lives. We have the power to take bad horrible things and make something good and beautiful out of them 🌺

@DeluxedEdition I agree we have that power. But sadly, most don't recognize it. Most reenact what they saw and learned as children. They didn't grow up to be better parents. Otherwise there would be no research or talk of cycles for us to break.

@DeluxedEdition i love everything you said .
Some people use trauma and bad shit to reason why they fail.
Others use it as a stepping stone to be better.
Everything you said re-affirms why i respect you .🤗
