Although I agree, look after u when they get older as stated by Spoliedbrat but it is ideal to train them into independence once they're 12 onwards.
In India kids stay with parents but some achieve independcy (my cousins) but others become a liability and don't work. They pester their parents for stash (my 30 yrs old bro in law).
