Our father wore a hearing aid and couldn't hear voices in person or over the phone for sixteen years.....

When he was suddenly cured nobody in my family said a word, I'm the only one who wants an explanation,- but my Dad won't talk to me anymore -. And, nobody in my family will say a single word to me about it! What do families call that?

I don't know, but have you seen your little brother around since it happened?
@DunningKruger yes! I asked him what about all the time we thought Dad was deaf - had to help him, be his ears, and what about that cure the day he dumped our Mom? He said -. Hmm. Yeah. And refused to say more.

@Roundandroundwego I'd look for eldritch symbols carved into the floorboards, splattered with goat's blood.
@DunningKruger he has thousands of guns and millions of rounds of ammo.

I had an older relative who would turn off her hearing aid because she didn't want to hear what people were saying. Sometimes she pretended she couldn't hear so she wouldn't have to answer boring people.

I am not sure, but I might call it a miracle.
@hellsbella okay, so why didn't anyone celebrate or mention it -. Ever?

@Roundandroundwego Because maybe they perceived the hearing loss as shameful and didn't want to bring it up for fear of embarrassing your father?

Did he forget to put the battery in?
@SW-User no. Huge charades around batteries. No hearing aid after a certain moment. Instant cure.
