My 18 year old siblings are going to some party tonight

I have a younger brother & sister who are the same age so they often hang together. My brother is taking his gf & our sister with him.

It's funny because I'm with my 24yo brother & we're all having dinner with his gf, their baby, our stepmom, & dad. When the younger ones were leaving our stepmom warned her daughter "remember just because it's party, doesn't mean you start drinking or doing drugs. Be safe okay?" then there was a short pause & she asks "Why are you guys bringing apple juice?"

My brother & I just started dying laughing 馃ぃ馃ぃ we didn't say anything but we know what's up 馃槄

I talked to my little brother taking them to the party though & it's Crown Royal. I asked how he was getting home & they're planning on taking an Uber from his girlfriends house then ubering back to stay the night there. I'm just glad they're safe. Can't say I didn't do worse shit 馃し

You's lucky we didn't have Uber when I was that age. You either risked getting in the car with a drunk older person or you huffed it back home.

@Lostpoet I used to skateboard back home & at times even drove stolen cars 馃槵 I didn't have Uber either I didn't even have a phone 馃槀
I'm grateful these kids have Uber as an option though in case they're too afraid to call their parents

Lol my brothers nearly the same age so I can relate to this so well, tbh it almost feels like younger siblings are brought up by different parents

@SW-User my 18yo sister who's going to the party with them can relate to you I think. She told me once how she feels like it's not fair we all had more freedom than her. But it's because she's technically our stepsister & our stepmom is a lot more protective of her. She's finally starting to break out of her shell lately & I'm happy to see it.

What would we call the new generations emo phase though? Because like, for us it was emo phases.. for the generation before us it was grunge phases 馃槀 what do the kids have now?

@ChiefWalksWith40oz yeah i can relate to your sister, and its so lame if you look it up they literally call it traumacore, and ofc you know the sad aesthetic music these days started by xxx; at least we had bmth lol
ChiefWalksWith40oz26-30
@SW-User traumacore? Wtf that's cringe ASF 馃槀 but I guess our emo phase was kinda cringe too.. we just don't see it because thats our thing. & Honestly I loved BMTH & I really love Xxxtentacion too 馃槄 his music got me through a lot lol

My brother is 9 years younger than me. My parents essentially decided that if he was with me, everything was fine. I didn't get that kind of leeway, but it says a lot about their trust in me. 馃槼
ChiefWalksWith40oz26-30
@SW-User I'm the oldest so I can relate to that even though most of my siblings aren't much younger than me 馃槀 I'm like when did I become trustworthy? Y'all never trusted me before lol

Very strong apple juice LOL
ChiefWalksWith40oz26-30
@TheotherAndy oh for sure.. I might've been the inspiration behind it actually because I recommended it to him a few months ago 馃槄

Great choice @ChiefWalksWith40oz
chrisCAM
@TheotherAndy Kids at that age don't appreciate good whisky. They mix it with cola. 馃槄
LostpoetM
馃檹I hope they get home safe
ChiefWalksWith40oz26-30
@Lostpoet yeah me too. The first thing I did was start worrying that's why I made sure he knew his driving situation 馃憣 I might not be a great role model but at least they can trust me

They may know about staying safe than you!
