It's so cold here tonight -35! Brrrrrr馃ザ

How did people cope back in the day
I Salut native Canadians, how did they survive without the central heating we have today?
JoyfulSilence46-50, M
OMG!

I was about to ask if it is degrees F or degrees C, until I realized it does not really matter. Negative 40 degrees F equals -40 degrees C. It is the only place where they are equal.

I looked up the record low for Cleveland, Ohio. I grew up nearby. The lowest temperature ever recorded there was about -29 C, in 1994. Wow! I do not remember it, even though I was in NE Ohio, not far away, at college, when it happened.

The coldest it has ever been where I live now is -22 C. But that was decades before I moved here.

Currently, though, it is only -1 C here.
They wore buffalo as coats..

Can Canadians move to Sydney?
Awe, you are further north than me. We close to there with windchill and I'm not stepping outside.

@RadiantRuby Oh! My cats won't make up the difference, but there is the odd night where I wished my water rad was not off in my bedroom. No warming blanket will help.

My grandmother said that she was a teenager when her parents moved from Oklahoma to Alberta. They spent the first winter here living in a tent. One morning it was 45 below.
