I have a recurring dream, and it's not going away.
Little bit of background for people who haven't seen any of the versions of Death Note, or read the manga. A Death Note is the notebook of a Japanese god of death, a shinigami. If you write a name in the book, that person will die. There are other rules, but that's the basic premise.
In my dreams, I somehow find myself in possession of a Death Note. After receiving the book, I'm contacted by an underground organization who have a list of names of people responsible for what my country has become. There are hundreds of names on the list, and they tell me that under no circumstances am I right now Trump's name until everyone else on their list is dead, because leaving even one of them alive is too dangerous. They also escort me to a dimensional portal generator. I'm a little confused as to the mechanism of the portal, but it's somehow to do with research at CERN. I go through it, and meet an immortal vampire version of myself. He turns me, then shows me how to shapeshift, so that when I come back through the portal, I am Lord Shadowfire.
The first thing I do in my dream, after ending the lives of a bunch of people I've never heard of, but whom I'm assured are behind the move toward fascism, is I make a dramatic entrance at the Capitol while Congress is in session. Part of the lesson I received in shapeshifting involves bilocation, so part of me is hidden safely away with the Death Note. As I approach the lectern, thanks to the book, everyone who tries to stop me, simply drops dead. Then I look around the room, and kill every Republican.
Then I start with the Democrats too afraid to stand up to Trump.
